Help, I recently viewed a private rented house and I agreed to except it. It was agreed between myself, the landlord and the estate agent. It was all agreed via text meesage and email. The landlord told me to hand my notice in which I did and is due to end Saturday 12th may. I was due to sign a tenancy agreement on Wednesday, I also transferred 1450.00 to her today only for an hour ago for her to ring me and tell me I can't have it she is now selling it. She as now left me homeless with 4 small children, as my house as new tenants moving in on the 13th. Can she get away with this?? And does the estate have any duty of care towards me x

You can talk to your current landlord and try to stay.

But what you have with this new landlord is a month to month rental, it is a contract and they would have to allow you to move in for the one month or be in breach and subject to any penalty that was agreed to in your text or allowed by state law in absence of a written rental agreement.

You need to in reality, find a new rental quickly.

Estate agent? It is my understanding that an estate agent is in the U.K. what we call a realtor in the U.S. If the law there is simiar to the law here, yes, he or she does.
