Hi,

Recently, I came across a thread on this site that mentioned a software called SPSS. I have never heard of SPSS before and would just like to know what this is and what can be done with SPSS.

Also, is it possible to learn how to use this program SPSS on your own or would a class be required to understand this?

Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

SPSS is a statistical analysis program that can do high level analysis, modeling, decision support etc.

It is now owned by IBM and you can find more about it at IBM SPSS software (http://www-01.ibm.com/software/analytics/spss/)

This is an program used by medium to large enterprises and it would not be something an individual would purchase. Therefore you would likely need classes to learn it.
