My boyfriend is in jail for probation violation, he didn't catch any new charges. He had court for the second time last Wednesday for probation violation announcement. The problem is they never went down to get him & now say he doesn't have court. It's clearly written on the paper work though ( I looked up the forms online). What can be the reason for him not going to court? & what exactly does a announcement mean in court?

By the way his family just hired a attorney for him but won't meet with him till tomorrow & won't know what's going to happen till Tuesday.

The where makes a big difference probation court rules differ by state. But on a probation violation. He will have to have an hearing but perhaps there was a reason to pospone it, it could be he does not have a new date scheduled now. There could have been a issue on schedule, other cases took too long, his paper work got misplaced ?

The state is Texas. & well the first time he want to court it was just to let him know he was being charged with PV then he went back the 2nd time on April 18 but they postponed it because they didn't have his evaluation. It was postponed to April 25 & that came & they never went to get him to take him to court.

Could be a dozen reasons, to be honest a probation violation often is not on the top of the list of priority list of the court. And normally there is no real rush to get him there. His attorney will need to reschedule a date for him
