opinions welcome...

I am adding bluestone treads to poured concrete steps.

Bluestone dealer says to bed them in mortar (3/4" + back buttering the tread)

Fellow contractor buddy says mortar is bound to fail and I would be better off just using landscape adhesive. Obviously this is much easier...

thoughts? votes?

Thanks!

Where are you located? I would follow the dealers advice unless your contractor friend is a mason by trade.

Just from what I have watched on TV home improvement shows, I would go with your buddy.
