Hello,

I have seen your web site. Its very helpfull.

I have a question. I am on H1-B, I worked on H1-B in 2006 whole year. I went back to my home country for a month in March 2006 and got married. My wife got H4 visa from US embassy in my country in March2006 but she didnot come with me. She came in US in Nov. 2006. Now I want to file tax return for year 2006. Please let me know the way to get the tax return. Can I include my wife as a dependent for tax return. What would be the beneficial approach?

Please let me know.

Thanks

You CAN claim you wife as a dependent, but you will do better tax-wise to file jointly.
