This is the first time I am filling out tax forms. I am trying to do it online but am getting nowhere. Most everything is fine but: In 2006 for the first part of the year I stayed at my mothers house in Freeport Illinois but did not work, then I went to Florida for a few months and worked, then at the end of the year I moved back to Illinois and have been attending college. I just got my W2's from Florida but I do not know if I only file for Florida state, or if I have to file under Illinois and Florida. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hey if you want to do my taxes for me that would be great.

Florida has NO state income tax.

You did not live in Florida long enough to be considered a Florida resident. File and claim ALL of the income on your Illinois return.
