Cutting a long story short here but I have just come across the profile of a known sex offender living in my town on plentyoffish.com.
In their profile this user is lying about a number of things:
Their hometown
Occupation
Age!! ( put themselves as 28 when they are 36!)

Now I would not normally be bothered by this except that I know the ex partner of this offender, and the nature of him luring young girls who are in fact over 18 but loo younger, to film them in secret and upload as child pornography.
I'm pretty sure that the local paper also reported that he was only to have access to the internet for work purposes in addition.

How do I go about reporting this person anonymously to the police? I called crimestoppers but they will only act if I make a formal statement - pointless! It's there for the public to view!

Yes you should report them. And you don't do it anonymously, you call them up and give them all the details of the events.

If he is on probation, you may try sending a letter to the probation dept with all the info you know.

... I'm pretty sure that the local paper also reported that he was only to have access to the internet for work purposes ...

If he's violating terms of probation, that's one thing. But if he is no longer on probation he hasn't done anything illegal. It's not a crime to lie on dating websites.

How do I go about reporting this person anonymously to the police? Hello a:

Couple things... The cops won't take an anonymous complaint, and I can't find anything illegal in what he's doing...

Just to reiterate... this man made up fake Facebook accounts to intice young girls. He then shared indicent images with them and was convicted in Dec 2011of possessing images of children and voyeurism (filming a teenage girl who lived nearby getting undressed without her consent)... how on earth he got off with it I do not know... all I know is that his parents' are millionnaires, maybe that had something to do with it!

He is definitely still on probation and I found a copy online of the write up in the local paper... he is only to use the internet for work purposes!
Told the police and they wouldn't do a thing as when questionned yesterday he claimed that one of his friends had set up the account and that he did not have access to it... pfff Lies! Suppose we'll just wait until he does it again!

If you're going to REITERATE, it should be an iteration that you have to repeat.. You're not repeating anything. You're giving us NEW information...

What you SAID above, is that he's inducing young girls, who are 18 and ADULTS to do something ADULT. There ain't NOTHING illegal about that... Plus, you said NOTHING about probation... I think you're making it up as you go along. You just want to cause trouble. I don't know what this guy did to YOU, but there's MORE to this story..
