My boyfriend has a warrant out for his arrest in Arizona for aggravated assault and aggravated assault per deadly weapon because of his ex and he's also on probation for dui. So he left the state and went to California for 6 months then the u.s marshal's showed up and arrested him he had charges in California for driving with out a license and the judge gave him 180 days while he was at court the guard told him that he would have been released the same day but he has the hold in Arizona and that he would get time served and now they are saying his release date isn't until the end of June so he would be serving a total of 90 days in California and I was also told that Arizona doesn't extradite anymore because of the cost. So what I'm wondering is does Arizona extradite and while he's in California does he qualify for the early release program because he is a non-violent offender or is the hold in Arizona not make him qualify for the early release program

Whether a state extradites depends on the seriousness of the crime. If the US Marshal's office pursued the warrant I would suspect that AZ will extradite.

Frankly, he sounds like a loser and someone you should not be involved in.

Yes AZ still goes after people, but not the lesser ones and how far away, Since this is the state next to it, there will be little cost in going and getting him. And yes the Federal Marshall do not go after you, unless someone has made some noise about it.

Expect him to go back to answer to the other charges. He needs to stop worry about getting out in 90 days and worry about not serving years in AZ.
