View Full Version : RUNDLL error

I found out I had Opencandy installed on my PC so I went and removed it using the software REVO UNINSTALLER. Now every time I boot my PC I get an error message saying I'm missing a DLL file. (please see attached )
I have no idea which procedure is looking for this DLL file.

It sounds like the program was not completely removed. I would do a Start->Run->msconfig. Click on the "Startup" tab and look in the left column for something resembling OpenCandy. Uncheck the box and click on OK. Reboot and see if this solves the issue.

Try cleaning up your registry. The program wasn't completely uninstalled. Also a good free program for uninstalling is Ccleaner. Redirecting... (http://www.ccleaner.com)

It has tools in it as well as helps you keep your privacy by deleting cookies.

I've run Ccleaner and a couple other programs to clean up my registry and nothing happened.

When you uninstall a program always use Control Panel, Add/Remove programs for WinXP or Control Panel, Programs and Features for Vista and Win7.
For your problem, yes the program wasn't completely uninstalled... If you used a registry cleaner you may still have to go into the registry and manually remove it, Run, Regedit, HKey_Currant_User and HKey_Local_Machine and down to the Software Folder you'll have to know the maker of the program if it's not listed as OpenCandy... If it's not there you'll have to remove it from your Task Scheduler... Control panel, Administrative Tools, Task Scheduler. It should be in there so just delete the schedule for it and that's it... Hope this helps

I've discovered with Windows Vista there is an Event Log running at boot up recording every action however it is an enormous file and I have no idea how to search it. If anyone has any idea on what I could do I would appreciate your help.

OPENCANDY isn't in the task scheduler? The Event Log is just a log of everything running on your computer, that's why it's such a big file. In the task scheduler go down to "Active Tasks" look for OPENCANDY and double click it it should show all the tasks it's running, on the right side plane it says "Disable" disable it, problem should be fixed now.

Also in the picture you posted... Have you tried looking for the User/hp/appdata/roaming folder and is the root OpenCandy folder in it? If it is delete that folder.

I checked as suggested and the there is no folder for OpenCandy.

I also have the same problem.
But I still can't find the actual solution.

Hi parthmakawana,
First: Did you try looking in theTask Scheduler... Control panel, Administrative Tools, Task Scheduler. It should be in there so just delete the schedule for it and that's it... Also did you try to do a search for it on your computer?
Second: Also look for this in your registry...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
"OCDLMgr"="RunDll32.exe C:\\PROGRA~1\\REDKAW~1\\VIDEOC~1\\OPENCA~1\\OCSETU ~1.DLL,_MgrCheck@16"
and...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{4d02e7e6-5930-4b51-b9b0-9f21b3789400}]
If you find these just delete them.
Third: Also check your hdd in these folders if there there...
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\OpenCandy\SearchMeIE.exe
C:\Program Files\Searchme.com\Searchme Toolbar\Toolbar.InstallState
C:\Program Files\Red Kawa\Video Converter App\OpenCandy\SearchMe.msi

Thanks , I tried three of your solutions but I didn't find any scheduled task, or registry or any hdd file.
