if i claimed my boyfriend on my taxes would he not be able to file for himself and receive a refund?

He can file for himself to get a refund. He just cannot claim his own exemption.

For you to claim him, he must make LESS han $3,300 for all of 2006, you provided more than HALF of his total support, AND he must have lived with you fpr ALL of 2006.
