my older modular home's furnace's pilot light goes out everytime it is windy. Its impossible to relight it because of the strong draft that keeps blowing out the lighter. I did put on a chimney cap but it hasn't helped the problem. My area is very windy so this is a huge problem for me. What can I do to stop this strong draft from blowing out my furnace's pilot light?

Depending on the furnace you have, they do make a high wind top. Check with local heating company to see if they can get one for you.

thank you for responding to my question. I'm told I have a wind topper so what else can I try?
