I saw in a previous post that you are 13. It is very common for teenagers to have irregular periods for several years, especially if they have recently started having them. It is also common for women to have a heavier period than normal every so often. If your period continues on like this for a few months, and lasts longer than 7-10 days, talk to your doctor about options you have to help better control it. As for the tampon, many women choose not to use tampons for a variety of reasons. I personally, like the benefit of using tampons. For a heavier flow, I don't know that tampons would work any better or worse Than a pad anyway. What is it that frightens you about the use? Has anyone properly discussed the use of feminine hygiene products with you?
