Can anybody tell me if a dictaphone can pic up any frequency,as I have done a lot of e.v.ps and it sounds like a conversation in the back ground,can they pic up radio,or taxi radio,it may sound like a stupid question,as I have picked up words I don't understand...thanks

I think so. I had an old radio that picked up every frequency (police, fire, taxi, CB, airplanes, everything) because it was made before they found ways to keep them out. I had a stereo that picked up the conversations of a girl several houses away who was using a CB at home (not legal). I had an early cordless phone (~ 1980) that I could listen into all sorts of phone calls clear as day.

Yes, I used to type dictation in my earlier career. When the attorneys dictated it was possible to hear what was going on in the background. I worked for an attorney that used to dictate in the shower with the radio on.

thankyou for your answers,so how do u now what is a real e.v.p to radio or taxi frequency,i have 2 different e.v.ps with the same voice but from different locations,1st one says don't worry and the 2nd says mind the time,both same voices but from different locations miles apart,so how can u seperate from real e.v.p to radio....thanx

Good question, I'm wondering exactly the same, I tried driving down the motorway thinking the background noise would be great for EVP... I placed my digital dictaphone on the passenger seat next to me. When I first listened I was like wow this is amazing, but after almost an hour of carefully listening and documenting it suddenly began to dawn on me that the dictaphone had picke dup lorry CB chatter... "You just cut me up thanks Roy" was the decider along with another voice saying "come in". When I listened carefully I realised there was constant radio chatter in the background... no spooks or spirits this time...

So I am left with the same question as yourself... I've a book by Anabela Cardosa called Electronic Voices... I'll have to finish reading it...
