I have a 17 yr. old female cat, & for most of her life a good cat. But the last few months she has started to piss / spray around the house. At first she just wouldn't use the box (always keep clean, so that's not the problem) but we started to clean it more, then she started to in our 13 yrold daughters room, ( no she didn't do any thing to her) but when we blocked her from that room she started to just spray in other rooms. It's not every day, but it has put uson hi alert. We've had her to long to just give up. Please any answers? Also, she started to cat screem, like thay do when in heat. (she's fixed all these yrs.) I would take her in to be checked by your veterinarian. She is a senior citizen at this point it could be a number of things.

At that age, I wouldn't be surprised if arthritis is a cause of her not wanting to use her box. It's a common cause. At her age, 100% of cats suffer from arthritis.

You need to take her to a vet. It could be any number of things, besides arthritis.
