In the late 50's and early 60's, prior to the showing of the movie, besides running a cartoon, there were also some short subject films shown.
There was one in particular that was unlike any other at the time. We were sitting there in the theater when a film started. I seem to recall it was a bunch of colors and patterns. After about a minute of this, was heard a man's voice, as if from the audience, asking, "What the hell is this?" Of course, the audience began laughing. I cannot recall the entire film but never forgot that part of it. It was so unexpected.

Would like to know if anyone has any idea of the title of that film and details about it, and if it can be seen anywhere, like on YouTube?

Already figured out the answer to my own question. The name of the short subject film is The Critic. The voice heard in the film is Mel Brooks. It was first shown in theaters in 1963.
Thanks anyhow.
