I was wondering if my ex landlord can take me to court for 1600.00 owed? I thought we could pay her with our taxes but the tax laws changed and now we don't have it. I want to send her 50 to 100 a month until paid but I don't think she will go for it. If I am sending her something can she still take me to court?

It depends on what you owe her for, but she doesn't have to accept a payment plan if she doesn't want to. And if she doesn't accept the plan IN WRITING, then she can go ahead and file suit. So you really need to work it out with her.

I'm also wondering what tax laws you think were changed. sounds to me like you just overestimated your refund.
