My RCA DRC285 DVD player (HDMI) plays for a little while and then a loud popping sound comes from the Uverse Gateway, and the Panasonic HDTV screen turns into a colorful mess of vertical wavy static. I turn off the Uverse on the tv, but there is still a Link light that remains on. Then, I use the Panasonic remote to turn on the tv and go to Video2, turn on the DVD player. This worked fine when I had Comcast (just their cable service). The wiring is correct. I have read for hours on the Uverse site as well as held on the phone for two days trying to reach Uverse (outsourced)tech support. Is there a way to safely exit the network so that only the tv and DVD player are being used when I want to use the DVD player? I am ill, and I have tons of DVD's I would really enjoy viewing.
Thank you.
