I have a question, I recently had a routine physical and the doctor mentioned that I had tested positive for the herpes antibody, she said you have been exposed, but she really did not act very concerned. I have never had any type of outbreak and have not had sex for over a year(deployed military) so would have to had these antibodies for at least a year if not longer. My question is if I am positive for antibodies but never had an outbreak, does that mean I have herpes or just been exposed. And if I have never had an outbreak, will I at some time in the future? Is there any thing in the myriad of shots the military gives you that may give you a false positive like the small pox vaccine?

Herpes antibodies will stay calm in your body for long time without an outbreak. The outbreak will come once your body is weak or you are exposed to excessive sun stroke.
