I have a 3 year old male who is half rot and half shar-pei. He has been peeing in the house for 2 years. I have tried everything to get him to stop from training sprays to obedient training, rubbing his noise in it. In our house we have a female dog and another male who is fixed and 9 years old. There is also 1 male adult and 3 male children in our house too. So I don't understand why he keeps peeing on my couch, garbage cans, my husbands tools, the kids toys and under their bed, and also under my coffee table. I mean He can go out anytime he wants to. We have the upstairs back door open 24/7 so he has the run of the back yard. Can anyone tell me what to do please cause its making me aggravated to the point I'm ready to give him away. PLEASE HELP!

Most important question here... is he neutered?

Second question, can you be specific in what training you have tried so far?
Rubbing his nose in it does nothing, dogs don't understand why you are rubbing their face in the carpet, the sprays can work if he only pees in a certain spot, but if he is peeing everywhere they won't work either.

If he is not neutered then book him in.
If he is neutered then it's back to square one with training.
Physically accompany him outside every few hours and praise him when he pees in the garden. My back door is open all day as well but the dogs usually only venture outside if I go to the back door and call them outside.

Are the kids very hand-on with his training? Another thought is that is could be a dominance issue. He may see the children as being below him in the pack and anything that smells like the kids, he wants to mark and put his own scent on. By getting everyone involved in his training you can help establish that the humans in the house are the top dogs and he has to obey everyone, not just you.

If he isn't neutered then you should get him neutered this will help unless this isn't the reason why he's doing it.

We started walking our shar pei 1-2 times a day to empty hom out and he will also poop on a walk. He will pee outside when put on the leash other times but walking him a couple blocks about 15min (he needs to stop and pee on everything but it seems to help
