Hi. I was working on my 'opt' all through last yr and my 'h1' started a couple of weeks back. I just got my first paycheck...which included the medicare and ssn deductions. Is there a way, where i can know what the precentage deductions should be in my case?? When i was in my 'opt' i was just paying $300 (fed+state) in taxes.....and now my taxes have gone upto $741 (now includes the medicare and ssn too). My yrly income is 50k and i'm not sure if i shud be paying so much in taxes. I'm here in US from aug'02 - jan'06 on student (f1+opt) status...and from jan on 'h1' status.
