HI,

I have been on a H1-B visa since Oct 05. During 2006 I was in India on work from the end of May until the 13th or so of October. What tax form do i need to file for this year?

Yes, you qualify as a resident alien. Your visit to India is irrelevent to the visa status.

Yes, you CAN claim the deductions of $3,300 and $5,150.
