Hi, I am 21, I was adopted at birth through a closed adoption. I was wondering if I could get blood taken and tested to help find any relevant info on who my parents are/were? - Thanks.

You are a adult and can get any blood work done at any lab you are willing to pay for. You can find out things though DNA often as to nationality background, You can have a complete range of medical tests that will show you tings about that

If you are asking whether there is a "database" of DNA from birthparents so that you can be matched up--no, there isn't.

You can however find out things about your own personal DNA---such as whether you carry genes that mean you could pass on certain diseases.

It's very expensive testing, though, and would probably not tell you anything more than a broad spectrum of background (you come from European parents, or African parents, or suchlike).

Are you trying to find your birthparents? Or are you just trying to find out your medical history?
