I was on F1 status last year until I switched to H1 status starting October 1 st, 2006. On F1 status I worked in three different states and on H1 status I worked in two different states. How does this effect my taxes and how should I be filing it?

You may have to file state tax returns in FIVE different states. It depends on whether your company withheld taxes for those states.

For the federal return, you will probably file as a non-resident alien for 2006, filing Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.
