What does your child do all day? How active is he? Does he spend time outdoors?

Some children are ready to give up nap time and rest time during the day at 2 or 3 years old. Try for a week with no rest time or lay down time. Increase his activity, etc. Night time sleep is more important that nap time. Try that and see if it works for him. If however he gets very tired and cranky after lunch and before dinner, try naps again, with a new routine. Maybe a darker room, with some clssical music to listen to, or maybe even just a simple lay down time with a quiet movie (quiet as in like bambi, not a lot of action to keep him active, but fun to keep his attention) and give him time to rest but not sleep.
