Ok, you have to file your taxes, you and your daughter ( if you have the right to claim your daughter) are merely tax deductions off of your taxes,

Getting BACK depends on income, how much you paid in during the year, and your deductions.

Now, if your income is below a certian level, you may be eligible for the Earned Income Credit.
