My program doesn't pick up on this as far as a refund. Do you not get back any of the medicare tax withheld? Also, Atlanta Tax Expert, if they agreed I was exempt from FICA, are you also exempt from the MED/EE?

If you are a H-1 or H-1B, the tax cited in Blocks #6 are for Medicare, which are NOT addressed on your annual tax return. They are not refundable.

If you are an international student under a F-1 visa, you are exempt from BOTH Social Security and Medicare taxes.

If you are a student working for the university, you are probably exempt from Social Security taxes, but must still pay Medicare taxes.
