Upgrades and didn't like it so restored windows to previous date and now Firefox not working at all

Remove (uninstall) it completely and then reinstall it if you wish to continue using it. You may have mixed up some drivers when you did a system restore.

Yes but if you "import" them into another browser first then you will still have them to go to.
