hey everyone I recently got 3 kittens from a friend and am having issues with one of them, the other 2 use the litter box just fine and cover it up, but he will be somewhere playing and just randomly start going on himself, he won't even make an effort to try and find the litter box, I have to keep him locked up in the bathroom where the litter box is. When he is in the bathroom he goes fine in the litter box but makes no effort to cover it up he has already gone on me and my fiancé while he is on the bed playing with us. Is there any help to stop this behavior? Or is there something wrong with my kitten?

4 questions:
How old are they?
Have they had any shots yet?
Is there anything sickly about this one - eyes sore, wobbly legs, skinny?
Is it just pee, or both?

Almost 9 weeks, no shots yet, nothing sickly about him, only stool as far as I know can't really tell if he peed anywhere because it don't stay too long but did find one of his favorite spots to go which is under the fouton in the living room

Hmm.. maybe the others are crowding him out, especially if he is smaller, or maybe he is just 'slow.'
I would wait another week and use Answer below to tell us what he is doing then.
When a pet finds a favorite spot to go, they keep going back. That might have just started all this, and it's a simple matter of spraying the spot under the futon with some disgusting smell (to cats) like pine ammonia or cheap after shave or they make special pet spray.
Letting very young pets have free reign of the house isn't always a good idea. It's best to make an ever widening pet area, out of gates or boxes, and put them in a crate at night with water and a place to go.

I do not know what you mean by gone on you unless you mean attacked you? If this is the case its because there are some cats that are little more instinctively wild & it would also give the reason why he litters alone he smells the scent of the other cats and prefers his own cool tray as for covering it up many cats just are in too much of a rush to do it sometimes they cover sometimes they don't.
