Local libraries are usually great resources for the history of buildings and addresses. Go to the resource desk at your town's library or the local library in your neighborhood and see if they have anything.
My hometown even had a book of "haunted" locations, very interesting and informative.
Just be careful that you don't hear voices when it's only the wind or see faces when it's only the reflection of a tree. Our minds are brilliant at playing tricks on us.
