Neither of you can adopt the other to become sisters.

Say, your mother and father were to adopt her, then you would be sisters. Or if her parents were to adopt her. If you were to adopt her or her to adopt you it would just be a strange adoptive parent and adoptive child relationship.

What is the purpose of legally becoming sisters anyway? How does this benefit either one of you? And how do your families feel about it? Are either of your parents interested in either adopting a 30 year old or having their 30 yo daughter adopted? Even though at this point you wouldn't need your parent's consent to be adopted, I imagine they may take offense to your desire to be adopted.

Actually we were just a bit curious and we just thought we would ask and see if there was any other people who have been friends that long and want to be sisters. No matter what the blood line is she will always be my sister. My parents are deceased and I call her mom my mom so its not strange to her because she say we act like were real sisters

I didn't say you could be made legal sisters. I said if you were to adopt her or she to adopt you then you would not be sisters. Please learn to read...both the rules of the site and the answers you're given. I said, again, reading helps, that you would be sisters if your parents were to adopt her or her parents were to adopt you. And I didn't say it would be strange for that to happen, I said your parents or hers might take offense (because you left out the fact that your parents are deceased). I said it would be strange if you were to adopt her or she were to adopt you. Because if either of you were to adopt the other you would not be made legal sisters.

You didn't include the fact that your parents are dead in your original post. So if her parents are up for adopting you, then go for it.

And your original post didn't say you were asking if other people who had been friends for a long time also wanted to become siblings. You asked for more information on if it could be done.
