Hi, I was wondering if anyone has come across this strange smell which has only just started to happen in the last 2-3 days.

We have a Hot Water Cylinder, and when the hot water is on, we have started to notice a kind of smell that I can only describe as a smell when you have been steaming off wallpaper.

I have looked everywhere around the cylinder and the area is totally dry from top to bottom. The pipes are dry, and I cant understand why this sort of smell would just all of a sudden start to occur.

Does anyone know what this could be.

We do have British Gas 3* cover (Homecare 200), and am thinking of calling them in to have a closer look.

But if anyone else knows anything, it would be very helpful.
