Won't happen without his blessing. And the action of the court. It will however end his child support obligations so if that point is stressed... he might reconsider.

You can't do anything.

Unless you can prove that your biological father is a DANGER to you (and since he's not involved, that's not going to be the case), you cannot force him to relinquish rights.

I have no idea how old you are, but I'm assuming you are still a minor. The ONLY thing you can do is wait until you are 18, a legal adult, and choose an adult adoption--IF it is allowed in your area.

However--please remember that there are two sides to every story, and you're only getting your mother's side right now.

THey can't make your biological dad sign the papers... but if he knows his obligation to pay ended if you are adopted he might be more willing. THe courts will be involved and this will cost them money.

At least you do have a stepdad that cares for you... and that's a good thing. Not everyone can say that. Even if you don't get adopted... It sounds like you are in a good home.
