I'm not talking about emotional escapes, or suicide, or so on (it is a prominent feature in my life, but that isn't the question here).

Basically, in 2 years I will have finished the academic course I'm doing at the moment. I originally had a plan, and a career path, but it was only chosen because I couldn't decide, and I find it hard settling on anything.

I would like to think I'm an intelligent individual, but from a broken home, thus I haven't had optimism or opportunities on my side.

I could be anything, but I could just as easily be nothing.

I need alternatives to academic achievements. I've always wanted to disappear from this place, and do something wholesome where it is needed. I understand there's volunteer work abroad, but for most it seems you have to pay them (?), at least that's what I've noticed from my not-so-detailed research. Anything, no matter how outlandish, I need your suggestions. Obviously you cannot choose for me, and I would not want it that way if it were possible, but I just need your knowledge, please.

I'm going to have a check into my library and have a look at the local paper, but I don't think ill stick at anything for very long. I always enjoy everything I do, but there is very rarely anything that grips me.

Sex is a pretty short-term solution and finding a girl who is relatively stable + not looking for any strings is quite a feat.

Thanks for your suggestions.
