My 4 month old kitten started acting weird one day. We brought him to a new home, but he opened up right away. Sleeping with us in bed, purring all the time, and just loving all the attention. Now he's trying to hide everywhere, hissing when my boyfriend comes up to him, just laying in the little sometimes with a terrifed look on his face. Sometimes he even shakes. We put him in another room and he acted perfectly fine there. He only seems to hiss and get mad at my boyfriend, even though nothing bad has ever happened to him. Anyone know what this could be? The kitten used to love when my boyfriend held him, kissed him, and gave him attention, but now he just cowards away and hisses.

You probably have one of three possibilities, either your boyfriend did something to him namely beat him or kicked him, or stepped on him maybe without even noticing and he now fears your boyfriend, and in that case you should give him a couple of weeks, at the same time try to familiarize him with your boyfriend, don't try to drag him out when he hides, especially if your boyfriend is around, you could try it when your boyfriend isn't in the room, drag him out and hold him close stoke him gently and soothingly, give him treats, and have your boyfriend give him treats, even if he doesn't eat them just leave them there for him, but obviously remove them if they starts to spoil.

Or your cat could be going through puberty, my cat was the same, when he was about 4 or 5 months he started hating all men hissing and spitting and clawing at any man or stranger who came near him, it lasted for a few months but he got used to the men in my house quicker. In about 3 weeks. And if that is the case your boyfriend should totally ignore him unless the cat comes up to him and starts sniffing, if that happens you are making progress, but your boyfriend needs to stand still the first few times this happens, then maybe he could pet him, but without being hesitant, just pet him gently on his neck or back. If he doesn't respond or runs away that's okay, just keep trying after a while all will be normal.

So basically spoil him rotten for 2-3 weeks if he doesn't get better take him to a vet, cats can sometimes act aggressive if they are in pain.
