After my divorce my ex ran off with our son. 5 years later I found them and took him back to court and was awarded casa. After a lot of harassment by him and his new wife and threats to my son I went quietly and signed the adopotion papers. Now he is 14 and my exs family has contacted me saying my son needs me. He is being abused and I need to know if there is anything I can do to help him. Child services has been called but nothing has been done to help my son. Please help with anything I may be able to do

Not being any sort of expert her I would recommend finding out all you can before reacting. Talk to the person that warned you first. Talk to your son. A lot of this will depend on the extent of the abuse, but I would venture if it was bad enough his family called it would be enough to get child services involved. If child services can't help try to get proof, these days that should be easy... many small devices record video and/or sound, so provided you son is up to it he can get the proof you need. Do not do anything to endanger yourself or further endanger your son.

Actually, you have NO LEGAL CONNECTION to your son any longer.

You can call the police and CPS regarding abuse, and you can be there to listen to your son if you have that contact with him, but you LEGALLY cannot do anything more than that.

You contact children's services and report the abuse, you have no legal rights,

You decided to give up that right to let them have the child. You allowed her threats to make you do the wrong thing
