Can I get the refund of social security tax that withhold from my wage if I am an F1 student? Which form should I use?

You CAN get a refund of withheld Social Security and Medicare taxes if:

- the work done is related to your field of study or training.

AND

- You have been in the U.S. for less than five years.

The Form is Form 843. You need to ask your employer for a refund first. When they refuse, get the refusal in writing.
