Paraphrase or a summary is when you read (or hear) something, and then repeat it in your own words. Often condensing a lot of information like a paragraph, a page or more information into a sentence single sentence.

So... A summary of (paraphrasing of) the movie "The Titanic" might be "in the end, the boat sank".

Typically, of course, you would include a little more detail.
