our furnace will work for about 2-3 hours fine, then it will act up, it will click on but the
fan will not turn on to get furnace working, it sits there clicking and clicking, we then have
to turn off for about one hour..then turn it on again , this time it works for another 3-4
hours or 5-6 hours then will go back to first step..its doing this more frequently. its a
intertherm furnace, not sure how old, but this house is a 30 year old house and we have
lived here for 9 yrs.

Possibly the blower motor is overheating and being shut off by its own thermal protection device.

Replacethe relay, the box with most of the time a re-set button on it, it sounds like the relay with it gets hot is the clicking noise you hear.

You you had it serviced lately?

No we havent had it serviced, we had a maintance man come last year for same
problem and he just blew and cleaned out the dust around the motor.
thank you , appreciate the help.
we get that same normal click once when its gonna work, but when it not going to
work it click and clicks and moans and groans, until we turn the thermostat to 60 for
about 1-2 hours..then when we turn up the thermostat back to 68 or 70 then the
heater clicks and starts to come on.

Is this a intertherm in a mobile home? Average life of a mobile home furnace is 10 years, are you sure that thing is even safe.
