I just installed a new toilet. I noticed that when I flush the toilet it fills up with water, levels out then slowly loses some. I marked where the water rested and let it set over night. It seemed to hold at the level. With I small decrease and I mean small from the mark that I made. I haven't noticed any leaks or water around the bowl. It is installed over tile with a concrete sub-floor in a single family home. I've never paid that much attention to a toilet before, but seeing how this is my first install I'm probably a little hypersensitive to it and noticing things I wouldn't normally notice.

Does it siphon and flush OK? After the flush and when the tank's filled what sort of a drop are we talking about? One inch? Two? Have you checked the little tube that runs from the top of the ballcock to the white overflow tube. Let me know, Tom

Thank you for the reply. It flushes fine, the tank water does not drop, the tube is right over the white over flow tube and there is no water loss there when I flush it and it cycles through. Its just over an inch of loss.
