Hi, I recently took over maintenance for an inn. We have japanese style deep soaking tubs with cable operated bath waste and overflow drains. I need a replacement part for one of the cable bwo's and I can't for the life of me figure out who manufactured these things. That's about the only thing that isn't in the closeout package I receieved with all the other manuals and installation instructions. Is there some way I can differentiate who made this model? If for some reason it's important in answering this question, the part that broke is a small white plastic piece that's connects the cable to rod that turns when you move the knob for the drain. I thought it was a Geberit unit because the knobs look the same but they sent me a differently shaped part (obviously does the same job though) and they said it was the only part they manufacture like that, so it's not them. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Jaguiar...

About the only thing I can think of would be to pull the parts you can pull and bring them over to the local plumbing supply store in your area. Talk to the guys at the counter... hopefully, they've seen the unit.

Otherwise, may just be best to purchase a new unit and install that! In the long run, when we look at the time involved in running these things down, it gets cheaper and easier to replace new.

Wait for others to reply on this before giving up on us... OK?

Can you take a photo of the overflow trim and post it ?

Most of the long, cable-driven overflows are made by Geberit. However, in recent years, I have seen number of imitations on the market.

Can you also tell me what part you are looking for ? I agree with Mark: you will be better off purchasing new overflow assembly and using only the part you need.

Back to you... Milo
