Bell is the input side of SDR 35, right?

If your talking about a raised lip on the gasket then that goes on the side closest to the bottom of the lip. It's there to prevent backflow.

No this stuff: http://www.lowes.com/pd_24141-1814-PVC+30040P+0600_0_?productId=3133149&Ntt=sewer%20pipe&Ntk=i_products&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?Ntk=i_products$rpp=15$No=30$Ntt=sewer%20p ipe$identifier=

Which end is supposed to be in? It's not gasketed. Don't plan on solvent welding it to put lengths together. Drainage application.

I don't think Lowe's sells any gasketed SDR fittings.

Rule of thumb for all fittings with a hub.
The flow goes from the male end into the hub. Good luck, Tom

Except when it's leaving a catch basin. :D
