I am newly engaged and planning on getting married next march. I have a 3 yr old daughter whom I would like my fianc? To adopt when him and I get married. My daughters dad has never been around not even when I was pregnant. His name isn't on the birth certificate or anything. Will I have to contact or deal with him at all for my fianc? To adopt my daughter and what steps to I have to take for my fianc? To adopt my daughter?

Yes. The court will require that he be contacted to get his permission to allow the adoption.

Since you will need an attorney to prepare the paperwork, I suggest starting now to shop around and get an idea of what you need to do.
