The title is basically my question.

When I've used a cleaning solution for my hard contact lenses, I've tended to use some water for the rinsing that was fairly high in temperature. I've not noticed them being harmed, but I was informed by an optometrist that they might warp.

Could they possibly warp by doing that?

Obviously anything at or below body temperature won't do any damage. Once you go above that, all bets are off.

I completely agree with Eileen. High temperatures can warp lenses. Just think about what happens when you're wearing contacts around a camp fire. BAD idea. I learned that one the hard way.

A camp fire is much hotter than the temperatures to which I'm in reference.

Yes I know, I am just pointing out that high temps can warp lenses. If your doctor says that the water you are using to rinse your lenses is too hot, then you should cool it down.

Too hot would be bad, but anything up to body temperature should be fine, and 37-39C is hot enough to clean most things.
