A few years ago I got sick, the doctors said that one of the rare side effects from the medication might be hyperpigmentation, after a year of treatment I began to notice my face and neck became shades darker than my entire body. Now, that I'm all better I would love to have my face back to a regular shade, matching my body. I don't really want a harsh procedure done, which is what doctors have suggested and I don't want anything with harsh chemicals either since I've spent years of harsh chemicals being pumped inside me. Does anyone know a specific routine I could do, or one product that is really effective?

In your case, the best bet would be to go as natural as possible.

Several 'natural' yet effective remedies would include exfoliating skin, and using products like Kojic acid and Alpha Arbutin. You should start facial exfoliation using light scrubs, or Glycolic acid starting at about 5-10% and gradually increasing over time.

I'd consider these the best remedies against hyper-pigmentation, yet they also provide good lightening effects over some time.

Yeah I do use scrubs, like the St. Ives brand regularly is that good enough? How can I get higher concentrations of the exfoliating scrubs, I'm not sure if they are sold in regular stores. Oh, and thank you for responding :)

You can actually find higher concentrates of Glycolic acid up to about 35-50% online, but for anything even higher, try talking to a medical professional or your dermatologist.

My cousin use this skin lightening supplement and cream from the UK,( www.yllume.co.uk) a little expensive for my pocket, but she can't stop talking about how its done wonders for her, she's actually one of those people that look in the mirror every 2 minuets checking out all the flaws on her skin and would eat your brains by not stopping to talk about it! Well she did manage to stop! She's got a quite sensitive skin so couldn't really try much, but she says after she used the skin brightening supplement and the cream together, the pigmentation literally was lifted from her skin! And her skin isn't as sensitive any more ( maybe the product make the skin stronger as well?) I'm saving up for it, ( I don't have money lol)
