Hi. I wanted to lighten my skin about 2 or 3 shades.

Here is a current picture of skin color:
http://hphotos-snc1.fbcdn.net/hs203.snc1/7018_1251358122333_1180899632_792082_2483512_n.jpg

Now I am currently using Porcelana Daytime AND Nighttime cream. The Day time one has Methoxycinnamate (2.5%) (Sunscreen) in it.

Now this has 2% HQ in it. With this cream, a good exfoliating soap, and limited exposure to the sun, could I lighten my skin about 2 or 3 shades? What's the lightest you think I could lighten with this?

I don't want to get too much lighter though. Just about 2 or 3 shades.

Also, would I still need to use sunscreen if there is already 2.5% put into the product?

Ummm... I would say 2% is not enough to lighten 2-3 shades.I tried palmer's skin success fade cream and it has HQ 2%in it I didn't see nothing just smooth skin.it also had sunscreen in it but if you have to go out in the sun I suggest you use a real sun protection. Try hq 4% for 2-3 shades it is good.

Go to CVS and try nadinola fade cream. It's 3% HQ, I used it for these dark patches I had on my ankles and it's lightened pretty decently so far =]

Well, many dermatologists recommended this product. I'll use it and see how it works.

Hi KB50Mj,

I think this will work for you, but because there is only 2% HQ it will take a bit longer. Consistency is the key. Even though it has some sun protection built in, you still need to use a separate sunblock during the day. Also, to help you lighten, you need an exfoliant such as a retinoid or AHA. Good luck on your journey!

Thanks. Golden Girl mentioned the same to me. This is what I'm going to do. I'm going to use a good exfoliating soap, continue constant use of the Porcelana and then use Nutregena spf 70 for when I go out.

That sounds like a great plan. I think that you should get a really subtle, natural lightening effect.

Yeah u should use a high spf of suncreen.. and to lighten 2-3 shade with only 2%HQ it will take u at least 3month of regular use... its better then using a high dose because that can have more side effects...

Hi, does every bleaching cream pill the skin, and also has anyone used sh18. And what is the best and safest product out their. I heard 55h was good but I don't know which products to get from that line. What is the purpose of serums, oils, gels, creams, and lotion.

No, not every bleaching crème does this. Usually the ones containing effective amounts of AHAs and/or other exfoliating agents. If a lightening product is responsible for peeling the skin but it happens to contain no exfoliating agents... I would be concerned. About the best product out there, there are many products that has much potential to lighten safely.. but there's a ketch because some may work better on others nad may do nothing for the next person because our skin is all unique. I was able to compile a list of at least 43 effective lighteners so far and why, based on the ingredients and how they operate, along with other users and my own experiences. I never tried sh18, although I have heard of it and I believe is made by the same company of the 55h+ brand. I believe there are others here who are in the process of tying these at the moment, the more people who test them out, the better review we can conclude on it's effectiveness.

You have a good complextion my dear friend... sincerely if I were to say a little,I will say do not use hydroquinone on your skin because its not very safe.
There are other lotions that can lighten you up without hydroquinone.

Why don't you try So White of Fair and White... it is good.I am sure you will love the effect. You sure will.Use the soap, body lotion and serum.
I am just worried that you spoil your skin with hydroquinone.
