I really don't think it does work.In my experience it's a waste of money.

For me the night crème lightened my skin up to about 3.5-4 shades (face, neck, arms, hands, ears). I used it with DS papaya kojic soap 2x daily. But it may not work well for everyone and it tends to give many people bad acne breakouts. I had written about it a few times here and posted my before/after pics. I eventually stopped because I got tierd of spending around $40-50 for a jar of crème, now using something else. But, I wouldn't mind using it again someday.

Lol... no, not really. There were things that did not work for me at all or gave me really bad reactions.

Makari night crème worked for my arms and hands, but the jars are not so big for the price they offer, when it comes to lightening the body.. even when I tried to use only a little. If they came in much larger sizes for a decent price, I would have used it all over head to toe.

It possibly can, especially it being 10% and not a lower strength such as 2%. Higher strength mequinol has greater potential risk of skin becoming depigmented and spotted, though it is a definite. I haven't tried meq yet, but some members here have and you can read their experiences by typing mequinol in the search box and try contacting them.

My experience w/makari. I bought the night cream and body milk. The night cream didn't work at all for me and gave me very small pimples. They weren't that nociable but I have always very clear skin. Anyway I stopped using the night cream after a month because it was too oily anyway. I bought nadinola and kept using the body milk with the nadinola (I use the fair and white exfoliating soap with aha (yellow box). It's worked almost overnight. By the next week my face had lightened at least two shades. So I'm now using it on my neck arms and chest. I had to slow down on my face (was using twice a day) because it's getting waaay too light. The rest of my body needs to catch up. So for me the bodymilk works but the night cream only made my skin brighter and toned it all one color/ no significant lighting.

Well it's just 3% hydroquinone, so if you can get that there it's the same. I have to tell you that it made a HUGE difference when I used the aha soap before applying it.

Jasmynn, the Nadinola extra strength or which type? I tried looking in the beauty store yesterday but it wasn't there, so I'm ordering it today. I read a lot of good things about it, 3% hq too. I'm planning on using it along with the retin-a. Possibly the F&W exclusive gel too. 2 shades up is nice.

How big is the jar?

It's the extra strength, sold in walmart. I tend to trust the Walmart's products better than beauty supply stores. But if it's not in your walmart, yea it's the extra strength. About 5$. The jar is 2.25 oz. I've just ran out of one jar, it about it about a week before Christmas. And I've been using on my face, neck chest and arms the past week.

Ok, thanks. I haven't checked Walmart yet, right now I'm looking on Amazon and the cheapest I could find was for $7 and some sold in a pack of 3. I may just wait and see if Walmart carries it.

Every Walmart I've been in sells it. It's in the secton with the black hair care products.

I became impatient and ended up ordering the nadinola and f&w exclusive gel... but I'll still check Walmart out this weekend too.

What are you using now? I started my lightening journey recently. I have been using makari for 4 days, twice a day. It has lightened me a shade already. But someone told me that it has steroids in it and its like 'heroine' for the skin, that it will disfigure my skin and cause patches, darkening and breakouts when I stop using it.

Is this true? Considering you have experience in using it... please help!

Also, now I am planning to reduce the use of Makari to once a day, at night I will use retin a + HQ5%. Is this an OK combination?
