went to hairdressers yestrday and my hair turned out a dark orangy red color - I really don't like it - what is the best way to fade it? What kind of toner would I use?

It won't fade. Orange is what is left of the *natural* pigment when it is lightened. I'm not sure what color you were shooting for or what you used. I'm going to guess that you asked her to lighten it -- but she didn't really know what she was doing.

There are two possibilities: 1) You could dye it darker -- use an ash brown, 2) You could lighten it bleach it and then tone it. A simple "toner" won't get rid of "dark orangy red".
