I am currently working in D.C., supposedly to be a temp. assignment, which will last for about 30 days. I am home based in Mass.

My question is:

Will my income be subjected to D.C. income tax withholding and required to file a D.C. income tax return?

Thank you!

Technically, yes, but only one month's worth of income will not produce enough income to incur a tax liability.

If you know that your assignment will not exceed a month, make sure your employer does NOT withhold D.C. taxes. That way, you won't have to file to get your money back.

Thank you AtlantaExpert :)

So what is the threshhold for D.C. to withhold my taxes, some of the ppl at my office says 183 days (6 months), is that true?

Thanks!

I do not know for sure, but six months sounds right!
