I have a Craftsman lawn tractor and something happened while mowing. Now to get the mower to go forward or reverse I have to pull back on the clutch/brake pedal. Works fine as long as I have it pulled back, but my foot is getting tired holding it in position so the mower will go. Please help

Hi,
Seems pretty obvious that a spring broke. When you push the pedal in, you merely work against a spring.
Peace,
Clarke

I agree with Clark. Sounds like a broken spring.

Depending on the model of the mower, you probably broke the spring that goes from the linkage/pulley under the mower near the engine to the frame near the very front of the mower by the hood slot.
