Hi all,

I have a 58STA110 Carrier furnace manufactured in Oct of 02 that is not igniting. Cooling is fine. The induction fan starts and runs for a few seconds. I hear and smell the gas start blowing, but after a few seconds the gas shuts off followed by the fan cutting of several seconds later. The flame never ignites. The service light is showing an error code 14.

Any ideas?

Did you ever observe the glow from the hot surface ignitor? If not, it has failed or is not being powered by the circuit board.

I found the problem.... The previous owner removed the hot surface ignitor. That would definaly cause a failure.

Seek out part # LH33ZS004. Treat it like an egg, and don't touch the element with your bare hands.
